Will Baum, M.AT, ATC, LAT, PES, CES

Head Athletic Trainer/Head Football

Academic Biography

Will Baum joined the Sports Medicine Staff in the Spring of 2015, and was promoted in the Spring of 2019 to Head Athletic Trainer. He is responsible for the healthcare of the football and golf programs, and oversees the student paraprofessional program for the sports medicine staff. From 2012-2015 he worked with Missouri State University as an Intern Athletic Trainer with the Football Program, Men’s/Women’s Golf teams, and worked as a Team Leader for the Gatorade Summer Sports Camps. Will received his Master’s Degree in Athletic Training from the University of Arkansas in 2012, and his Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from Baker University in 2010.

Will, a native of St. Louis, is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) & Licensed by Missouri Board of Healing Arts. He is also certified by National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) as a Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES) and Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES). He has taken 3 Postural Restoration Institute (PRI) courses. 

Tom Pomerleau ATC, LAT, CSCS

Athletic Trainer, Rehabilitation Coordinator

Academic Biography

Tom Pomerleau joined the sports medicine team at Missouri S&T in 2013 and works with the volleyball and swimming teams.  Tom was given the title of Rehabilitation Coordinator in 2018.  Pomerleau is originally from Waukesha, Wis., and received his undergraduate education from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh where he graduated with a major in Athletic Training and a minor in strength and conditioning.

After graduating, Pomerleau worked for the University of Nevada-Las Vegas as an intern athletic trainer.  He was primarily responsible for working with the athletes of the football and tennis teams.  Pomerleau also worked several week-long sporting events including: Eurobasket summer league, several adidas AAU basketball summer leagues, stretcher crew at the Gold Cup final in Los Angeles, and was a private physio to a professional tennis player at Indian Wells Tennis Club.

Kaleena Baum, MHSc, ATC, LAT

Athletic Trainer

Academic Biography

Kaleena joined the sports medicine team at Missouri S&T in October of 2015.  She is currently responsible for the coverage of the men’s and women’s cross country and track & field teams, but has previously worked with the women's basketball, women's volleyball and women's soccer teams. 

Kaleena is originally from Springfield, MO, where she attended Missouri State University and received her Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training in 2013. Upon graduation, she received a graduate assistantship at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, where she worked with the women’s soccer and the men’s and women’s track & field teams during the 2013-2014 season. From 2014-2015 she worked for The Therapy Center in Jennings, LA, where she spent time working in the therapy clinic as well as covering three high schools.  She completed her Master’s degree of Health Science with a Sports Medicine concentration in April 2015.

Samantha Boehm ATC, LAT

Certified Athletic Trainer- Intern

Academic Biography

Sam joined the Sports Medicine team at S&T in August 2018 and is from Wildwood, MO. She attended Bradley University to obtain her Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences. She then moved to Utah to get her Master’s degree in Athletic Training from Weber State University. She had the pleasure of working with the Utah Royals FC team over the summer of 2018 and worked with the Arizona Diamondbacks in the summer of 2017. Samantha played Club Soccer at Bradley University and she enjoys traveling, hiking, kayaking and biking.  

Rafika Faci ATC, LAT

Certified Athletic Trainer- Intern

Academic Biography

Rafika joined the Sports Medicine team at S&T in August 2018. She is originally from Bolingbrook, Illinois where she attended Northern Illinois University and received her Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training in May of 2018. Prior to Graduation she completed an academic internship with the Arizona State University sports medicine department working with their football program. During her academic career Rafika was an active member of the Northern Illinois Athletic Training Student Association (NIATSA). She also played rugby for the Northern Illinois University Women's Rugby Team and the Chicago Griffins Summer 7's Team. 

Nick Driscoll ATC, LAT

Certified Athletic Trainer- Intern

Academic Biography

Nick Driscoll originally came to Missouri S&T in the spring of 2019 as a student intern and joined the sports medicine staff in fall 2019 as an Intern Athletic Trainer to work with Miner football and softball.

Originally from West Chicago Illinois, Nick received his bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training in May 2019 from Northern Illinois University in Dekalb. As a student, he had a year-long rotation working with the NIU football team. He also did rotations with local high school athletics, and Division III women’s soccer and basketball with Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois.

Amy Matchell ATC, LAT

Academic Biography

Amy Matchell is joining the Missouri S&T sports medicine staff as an intern. She is from Bremerton, Washington and recently graduated from Washington State University with a bachelor’s in Athletic Training. Amy is a member of the NATA and is licensed through The Missouri Board of Healing Arts.
