Have you ever wondered if what you are eating is what you should be eating? Do you wonder if your diet is what it should be based on your level of physical activity and fitness and nutritional goals? Wonder no more!

The Missouri S&T Student Wellness Program offers a Nutritional Analysis Program to students free of charge. All you have to do is keep track of what you eat for three days! Once your food diary is complete, bring it to the Health Educator at Student Health Services for analysis. In two days you will have more information about the foods you eat than you ever imagined! You can get help determining what changes you need to make in your diet and how exercise can help you to become a healthier student.

Follow the steps below to get started!

1. Download the food diary forms, information sheet, & directions. Print 3 copies of the food diary form. Be sure you change your settings in properties to landscape when printing the food diary & directions.

2. Keep track of everything you eat and drink on the forms provided. Be as specific as you can! It is important that you know how large or small your serving sizes are! You can measure out various amount of cereal and put it on a plate to give you an idea of what 2/3 of a cup of peas would look like. DON'T change your diet just because you are writing it down-eat just like you normally would!

3. When deciding what days to monitor your foods keep in mind that you eat differently on the weekends! It is best to keep track of two days that are considered weekdays and one day that is either a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. This gives a more consistent idea of what you are consuming.

4. Once the three days are up, fill out the information form and drop off the papers to the health education office in Student Health Services. Your analysis will take approximately two days to complete. You can make an appointment to review the results at that time.
