Tips for success at Missouri S&T

  • Wear warm clothes and shoes during cold weather, and layer your clothing in classes.
  • Take care walking during ice and snow storms; don't walk with your hands in your pockets-keep your hands free to break your fall if you slip.
  • Practice your religion.
  • Eat foods similar to what your eat at home.
  • Exercise at least 3 times/week, get plenty of sleep.
  • Join a club, spend time with friends, participate in activities-a well rounded lifestyle keeps it interesting!
  • Engage in healthy relationships, communicate your needs and listen to your friends' needs.
  • Get involved in creative, stimulating activities in addition to your academic work.
  • If you work, do something flexible that you enjoy.
  • Bathe daily with soap & water; shampoo your hair, brush your teeth, wear deodorant-body odor is offensive!
  • Wash your hands frequently through the day-especially after using the restroom, and before eating! Wash your hands after using public keyboards and phones.
  • We are all different, let's celebrate that while we strive to learn about each other.
