Missouri S&T students must have proof of two (2) Measles immunizations on file in Student Health Services.

  • The first dose must have been given after the first birthday.
  • The second dose must have been given at least 30 days after the first immunization, and after 1980.
  • Students born before 1957 are considered immune, however they must still have this documented on the Measles Immunization form.
  • Students who do not have a completed Measles Immunization Form on file will not be allowed to enroll for their second semester of courses at Missouri S&T.

THE FOLLOWING FORMS OF DOCUMENTATION WILL BE ACCEPTABLE TO AVOID REGISTRATION DENIAL:

    • Copy of Immunization record signed by physician, military record, or high school record.
    • Confirmation by medical office records presented to SHS that the student had the measles disease (rubeola) or copy of blood tests showing measles immune titer.
    • Waiver granted by SHS after presentation of supportive evidence. For medical problems that preclude measles immunization, a signed statement will be required.

Missouri S&T MEASLES IMMUNIZATION POLICY
Since the Fall Semester 1986, the Board of Curators has endorsed a mandatory measles immunization policy which states that no person born after 1956 shall attend a University of Missouri campus without documented proof of measles immunity.
To reduce the potential for measles outbreaks, the Missouri S&T campus has adopted the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Missouri Department of Health recommendation that all newly enrolled or readmitted college students provide documentation of two (2) doses of measles vaccine to demonstrate adequate measles immunity. Beginning Fall semester 1994, those entering who do not comply with this policy will not be allowed to register the following semester.
This policy excludes students matriculating only in off-campus or continuing education/extension courses.
PLEASE NOTE that should a measles outbreak occur, all students without appropriate measles immunity documented through the Student Health Services (SHS) may be required to leave campus.
